“I Remember Everything,” the last recorded song by the late John Prine, debuted on top of Billboard‘s Rock Digital Song Sales chart this week.
The highest-charting single of the folk icon’s career as a performer comes after his death.
“I Remember Everything” is a love song written jointly by Prine and Pat McLaughlin. The song was recorded last year in Prine’s living room. Dave Cobb produced the track.
The two-time Grammy-winner died at the age of 73 on April 7 due to coronavirus. Prine was No. 1 on the Rock Songwriters chart the week after his death.
Six of his most loved songs hit the Top 30 of the Hot Rock Songs chart.
He is survived by his wife Fiona and three sons.
Fiona recently revealed that Prine’s never-before-heard songs will be released in the future. “John left me a lot — a lot of memories, music, cars,” she added.
