The 2021 Glastonbury Festival will not take place due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, organizers announced Thursday.
“In spite of our efforts to move Heaven & Earth, it has become clear that we simply will not be able to make the Festival happen this year,” they said in a statement.
This is for the second consecutive year that Britain’s famous music festival is being canceled due to the pandemic.
The organizers offer all those who secured a ticket in October 2019 the opportunity to roll their £50 deposit over to next year and guarantee the chance to buy a ticket for Glastonbury 2022.
They promised to deliver “something really special” for music lovers in 2022.
Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Diana Ross, Lana Del Rey, Haim, and Thom Yorke were among those scheduled to perform at the previously canceled 2020 edition.
