Gemma Collins pays tribute to boyfriend Ramis ex wife for ‘greatest gift’ of being a stepmum

Gemma Collins has paid an honest and emotional tribute to her boyfriend’s ex wife.

The The Only Way is Essex star, 40, who recently said she's 'the most successful' woman to come from the Essex-based reality show, was speaking on her podcast about how 2021 had panned out.

“I thought I would share my personal biggest highlight of the year. I think it would be falling in love and thinking it would never happen for me,” she shared candidly.

“I’ve had the biggest gift of my life, something that money can’t buy and that is my beautiful stepson, who I love so much. I’m very grateful that we have such a wonderful relationship, myself and Rami with his mum, the beautiful Fernanda.”

She continued: "It’s kind of like a pinch me moment. I went to her house yesterday for dinner and I sat there and I was like, ‘This is so surreal but so wonderful’. Two really strong women and a great dad and the love we have for the child.

“He has given me the biggest joy of my life,” she said.

“I always felt something was kind of missing, I had it all but there was a little part of the puzzle missing and Rami bringing that to my life and his mum being so kind and letting me be there in the child’s life is the biggest gift I’ve ever had.”

“I just want to say a very special thank you.”

Gemma had previously dated businessman Rami Hawash on-and-off for three years, before ending their relationship in 2014 – in that time, they even got engaged.

However, the pair grew close again in lockdown and following the end of her long-term relationship with James ‘Arg’ Argent for good in 2020, the couple rekindled their old flame.

Gemma has previously spoken exclusively to OK! about the strong bond she has with Rami’s son, Tristan, and ex wife, Fernanda.

Talking of their Christmas plans and calling herself ‘Mrs Claus’, she said: “I have got a really good relationship with his mum and we all love Tristan to death.

“We haven't properly finalised the last details but definitely. He is going to be so excited and I have actually already bought all of his Christmas presents.”

“He [Tristan] is the first one I have bought for actually so I have had to put his presents up in the loft.

“You know what, with children it is best not to spoil them too much because I think kids need to understand the value of stuff."

And despite revelling in her new step mum role, Gemma has admitted she wants to become a mum herself – even enlisting the help of fellow TOWIE star and friend, Amy Childs.

Speaking to MailOnline, Gemma explained: "We’ve tried, it hasn’t happened yet. It’s a bit disappointing every month.

“'I was with Amy Childs at the weekend and we had a friend’s wedding and she’s like a guru at how to get pregnant. She’s told Rami what days we’ve got to do it on and all that. So we’re reporting back to Amy every time we do it!"
