Ex-Strictly star Vick Hope is cheering on AJ Odudu – and thinks she’ll make the final

Following her own Strictly Come Dancing stint in 2018, presenter Vick Hope makes sure she keeps up to date with the popular BBC show.

And although the Radio DJ has only managed to watch clips of the latest series online, she told OK! she's backing her friend AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington to take home the glitter ball trophy.

"I’m rooting for AJ [Odudu] because she’s my mate," Vick told us. "She’s amazing and I’m so glad the world is getting to see that.

"Also, she’s proving to be a very talented dancer, so I’m pretty sure she’ll go all the way."

During our catch up with Vick, she reflected on her own time on the dancing competition and admitted that although she looks back at the experience fondly, she remembers it as a "stressful time."

The 32 year old was partnered up with Graziano Di Prima during her stint on the series and eliminated fourth.

She told us: "I was also doing Capital Breakfast every morning, so I was getting up at 4.30am and then I’d go straight to training for eight hours, then I’d be so exhausted that I would try to eat my dinner while having a bath because my body was in so much pain.

"One thing I did realise when I finished Strictly was the limits of my own body and mind. I was so exhausted and because of that, I didn’t feel like I gave it everything."

Speaking about the positive lessons learnt from her short-lived experience, she said: "As a result of that experience I go into everything in life knowing that I have to enjoy it. Otherwise, what’s the point? I try to enjoy everything I do. Life is a big old ride and there isn’t really a destination.

"It’s just a great journey and you don’t know when it’s going to end because things are fleeting. And there’s a lot that’s happened in the last couple of years that’s made me realise I need to enjoy it while I can. That’s what Strictly taught me – you’ve got to enjoy the moment because it’s all you’ve got."

These days you can catch Vick on Radio 1's drive time show with co-presenter and I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Jordan North.

"Jordan has become a great mate – he’s just authentic and genuine and we very quickly came to care about each other intensely. He’s like a brother now," Vick told us.
