Cardi B has been entertaining us on so many levels for years now but 2020 saw her up her game and then some when it came to her social media.
We thought our blessings from the rapper had peaked when she released WAP alongside Megan Thee Stallion earlier this year, but no, Cardi is the gift that keeps on giving.
From her reaction to a rather adult moment in Toy Story to the now-viral ‘CORONAVIRUS!’ clip she shared to Instagram, as well as her takedown of Ben Shapiro’s hatred of WAP and her thoughts on the White House, it’s been a year.
The singer’s nonchalant attitude to certain things has been put on show as Cardi has become known for sharing her thoughts sans-filter, be it a discovery she’d just made or an X-rated thought on what is happening in the world around her.
As a little treat to see you out, and to really set the tone for the kind of bossery we’ll be rocking into 2021, we’ve compiled some of Cardi’s absolute best moments from social media.
So please do not take it from us: feast upon the beauty that is @iamcardib.
Her latest legendary tweet…
Overnight Cardi B took to Twitter to ask her followers what she should watch on Netflix before, well, getting down to some sweet, sweet loving.
She tweeted on Wednesday: ‘What’s a good movie to watch on Netflix before I start f**king?’ and the responses were brilliant.
We’re talking Bridgerton, we’re talking Call Me By Your Name. Some followers even suggested Queen’s Gambit to get her in the mood.
Her coronavirus video
At the beginning of the pandemic, as we were still getting ourselves aquainted with this whole Covid-19 pandemic, Cardi shared a video of her talking about the outbreak with her followers.
Naturally, her impassioned speech about ‘s**t getting real’ was soon made into a remix by fans.
Cardi’s ultimate comeback for body shamers
In June the Bodak Yellow star stepped out in a blue Louis Vuitton bikini to match the blue streak in her hair, as well as a large Louis Vuitton shopping bag and heels as she recorded a video captioned ‘Leave my rolls alone’ for the haters.
She told her followers: ‘I have to do this video because I’m seeing y’all putting this edited Target picture of me looking like a motherf**king square…
‘So I have to do this video because yesterday I posted a picture too spicy, and the haters claimed that I was Photoshopping, so now I gotta show y’all this motherf**king body.
‘I know a b***h gained some weight because I have to make the thighs match the motherf**king a*s, you know what I’m talking about?
‘But I know you b***hes ain’t talking when you’re shaped like seals and I know you n****s ain’t talking when you got sisters with bison backs and your mothers are shaped like walruses.
‘So I know y’all ain’t bodyshaming me. I know I gained a little weight, I’m actually holding it in ‘cos I ate breakfast, lunch and I ate some ice cream. ‘It doesn’t matter though. A b***h got lipo money. I got lipo money.’
She clapped back at comparisons to Melania Trump
Cardi B isn’t one to keep her opinions to herself – and that doesn’t change, even when the target of her ire is the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump.
The rapper went for Donald Trump’s wife, after a former Republican Congressional candidate claimed America needs more Melanias rather than more Cardis.
However, Cardi wasn’t going to let that slide and tweeted: ‘Didn’t she used to sell that Wap?’
She then shared a picture from Melania’s 1995 shoot for the now defunct French magazine Max, for which she posed entirely naked.
And it was brilliant.
That time Cardi clapped back at Candace Owens
Cardi didn’t hesitate to respond as she defended her interview with Joe Biden and also revealed how Donald Trump supporters recently harrassed her bisexual sister at the beach, after the rapper was targeted by conservative pundit Owens.
Cardi explained why the Biden interview made sense as she stated on Instagram: ‘I have millions of followers. I pay millions in taxes. I have the Number One song in this country, I have the Number One song in the United Kingdom, I have the Number One song in Australia, I have the Number One song in New Zealand.
‘So I turn off my f**king phone so it won’t load. And I’m like “Yo check if the picture posted” and he’s like “Yo you posted a picture of the f**king t*t!”
‘I’m trying to turn the f**king phone on, by the time I turned the phone on and f**king deleted the s**t everybody and their mum saw my salami nipple f**king t**ties, my big salami nipple t**ies was all over the internet.’
Hey she can laugh about it, and that’s the main thing.
When she went head to head with, yes, Peppa Pig
Cardi B picked her next beef and it’s unexpectedly with Peppa Pig after her daughter Kulture picked up a frustrating habit from watching the children’s show.
Sending a pretty terrifying threat to Peppa, the WAP rapper tweeted: ‘My baby been watching peppa pig and now Everytime she sees a wetpuddle she wants to stomp on top of it That s**t gets me so tight ! F****n up her uggs……’
She added with words of warning: ‘Deum you peppa pig …COUNT YOUR F****N DAYS!’
The rapper stumbled upon a rather adult detail in Toy Story
Cardi received an education on the Disney Pixar animation that was most definitely directed at the parents sitting through the 1995 children’s flick.
If you need a little refresher on the characters of the iconic animation, Legs, one of antagonist Sid’s toys, is a fishing rod with Barbie legs. Innocent enough, right? Well, turns out there is a little (not so) hidden meaning behind Legs, who is a hybrid toy of Sid’s, as it’s supposed to be a ‘hooker’ in the most literal form, as a toy who can hook things, but also it has a double entendre, referring to a sex worker.
While this detail probably ruined our childhood feelings towards the film long ago, WAP rapper Cardi only discovered this detail upon witnessing a meme overnight.
Sharing the rather informative slide to Twitter, she wrote alongside it: ‘OMMMMGGGGGGGGG !!!! This the greatest knowledge ever!!!’
And we were all shaken and stirred.
What she thinks happens in the White House
Cardi B won’t be having sleepovers at the White House any time soon after sharing her biggest fear about what happens inside its famous walls.
She shared her fears as Joe Biden was confirmed as the next US President after the Electoral College approved the public vote, meaning Donald Trump will definitely have to vacate the White House on January 20.
‘I don’t know man I will be freaked out being a new president moving in the White House,’ Cardi told her Twitter followers.
‘That house is sooo old and full of history. My scary ass would be thinking George Washington tickling my feet at night,’ she added.
Well okay then.
Here’s hoping 2021 is filled with much, much more greatness from Cardi’s feed.
