Aaron Rodgers is ready for his guest-hosting spot on Jeopardy!
The 37-year-old Green Bay Packers player won the 2015 Celebrity Jeopardy! Championship.
He’ll be the fourth guest host following the passing of Alex Trebek last November. He follows Ken Jennings, Mike Richards, Katie Couric and most recently, Mehmet Oz.
To prepare for his appearance, Aaron revealed that he took a deep dive into past Jeopardy! episodes to learn from Alex.
“I watched hours and hours and hours of episodes,” he shared. “Luckily Netflix has a few seasons, and I went back to DVR. But I had to watch from a different perspective — from Alex’s perspective. I couldn’t watch it as a fan anymore.”
Aaron went on, adding that he “took pages and pages and pages of notes. I wrote down every affirmative that he said to any type of clue. I wrote down how he would respond if they didn’t get it right. I wrote down beat points of the show. I wrote down all the different ways he would take it to break. I wrote down the stuff that he said coming out of break. Literally, I studied for this like no other. I wanted to absolutely just crush it.”
During his two-week guest-hosting run, Aaron will be raising money for small businesses, with money earned by the contestants matched by the North Valley Community Foundation.
